A high-powered delegation from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), led by its Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, paid a courtesy visit on Thursday to His Majesty, Alayeluwa Oloore Oodua, Oba (Dr.) Adekunle Adeayo Adeagbo, the Oore of Otun-Ekiti, in Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

The visit, which also had in attendance the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Dr. Femi Fred Akinfala, formed part of NELFUND’s ongoing sensitization and stakeholder engagement tour across the Southwest region. The initiative seeks to deepen public understanding of the Fund’s mandate and promote collaboration with traditional and state institutions.

The NELFUND chief reiterated the Fund’s core mission—to ensure that no Nigerian student is denied access to higher education due to financial constraints. He noted that traditional rulers and community leaders play a vital role in mobilizing grassroots awareness and ensuring smooth implementation of the student loan scheme across the country.

Other members of the delegation included Mr. Sola Fowobaje (Director, SERVICOM), Mr. Nasir Ayitogo (Technical Assistant to the MD/CE), Mr. Yomi Gbadamosi (Personal Assistant to the MD/CE), Mr. Festus Adefehinti (PA to the EDFA), Mrs. Olajumoke Jayeoba (Deputy Manager, Evaluation), Mr. Oluojo Ayoola Olufemi (Officer I, Evaluation), and Mr. Omogbemile Tunde Joseph (Officer I, Evaluation).

Welcoming the delegation, the Oore of Otun-Ekiti commended the management of NELFUND for its proactive outreach and commitment to educational inclusion. He assured the team of the unwavering support of the Ekiti traditional institution in driving awareness and encouraging eligible students to take advantage of the scheme.

Also present during the visit was the Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, who lauded NELFUND’s approach and emphasized the importance of education financing in empowering young Nigerians.

The visit underscores NELFUND’s determination to build strong partnerships with traditional rulers, state governments, and community stakeholders as part of efforts to advance equitable access to education nationwide.
