The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has confirmed that its 2025 Annual General Assembly (AGA) will hold in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Chief Operating Officer Ms. Modupe Shabi said the AGA would convene club chairmen, general managers, and key stakeholders from the NWFL Premiership and Championship to chart a new course for women’s football in Nigeria.

Delegates are expected to arrive on Tuesday, October 28, ahead of the congress, which will feature major highlights such as the announcement of the 2025/2026 Premiership kickoff date and the official fixture draw.

“The Assembly will provide an opportunity for robust deliberations as we collectively advance women’s football in Nigeria,” Ms. Shabi stated.

This year’s AGA comes on the heels of an exciting 2024/2025 season that saw Bayelsa Queens claim a record sixth Premiership title.

Promoted clubs for the 2025/2026 campaign include Sunshine Queens (Ondo), Castmog Ladies (Ogun), Ahudiyannem Queens (Abia), and Imo Striker Queens (Imo) — expanding the Premiership to 20 teams.

New entrants to the NWFL Championship are Dreamstar Ladies, Rangers Women, Rosaria Victrix, and Solo Wonders, reflecting the League’s growing footprint nationwide.
