The management of Bayelsa United has issued a two-game ultimatum to the players and coaches of the Prosperity Boys following the team’s series of unimpressive results in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Chairman of Bayelsa United, Dr. Tarilaye Nwankwe, announced the ultimatum at an emergency meeting with players and coaches of the club at their camp in Yenagoa.
According to him, the ultimatum will commence with this weekend’s encounter against Warri Wolves in Ozoro and the home fixture against Plateau United on October 31, 2025, noting that management would no longer tolerate such poor performances going forward.
He explained that the decision became necessary due to the team’s recent poor run, particularly last Sunday’s display against newly-promoted Kun Khalifat.
“The Bayelsa State Government has invested heavily in the club, and so far, the results have been far from impressive. We cannot continue with such performances. The investment must reflect on the pitch, starting this weekend,” he stated.
“This is not a witch-hunt but an honest and concerted effort to ensure that everyone involved in this club keys into our philosophy of making Bayelsa United one of the foremost clubs in the country.”
