Gov Kefas’ move to join APC gets support

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Taraba State on Legal Matters, Barr. Sani Marke, has thrown his weight behind the decision of Governor Agbu Kefas to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a masterstroke of political wisdom aimed at accelerating development in the state.

Marke, in a statement issued in Jalingo on Tuesday, said the governor’s move demonstrated uncommon courage and foresight, noting that it was a decision rooted in statesmanship and the pursuit of Taraba’s collective interest above partisan considerations.

He explained that Kefas’s decision to work in synergy with the APC-led Federal Government would open new frontiers for development and ensure that Taraba State is not left behind in the national growth agenda.

According to him, aligning with the centre would attract more federal presence and investment opportunities to the state.

“Governor Agbu Kefas has once again proven that he is a true patriot who puts the interest of Taraba first. His decision to align with the centre is not about political convenience but about expanding opportunities for our people,” Marke said.

The aide commended the leadership of the APC in the North East and Taraba State, including: Senator David Jimkuta, Barr. Uba Maigari Ahmadu, Hon. Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi, Sani Danladi, Jerry Manwe, and Comrade Mustapha Salisu for their open arms and statesmanlike disposition in welcoming the governor into the party’s fold.

He said their warm acceptance reflected the growing recognition of Kefas’s leadership qualities as a bridge-builder committed to inclusive governance, peace, and sustainable development.

Marke added that the solidarity shown by the APC family in Taraba and the North East was commendable and a signal of unity and shared purpose.

Calling on residents of the state to rally behind the governor, Marke said the move to the APC marked the beginning of a new era of progress and political stability in Taraba. He urged citizens, irrespective of party affiliation, to support Kefas in his effort to reposition the state for prosperity and transformation.

Reaffirming his loyalty to Kefas, the special adviser pledged to mobilise broad-based political support for the governor ahead of the 2027 general elections. He said the governor’s decision had redefined governance in the state and symbolized a new chapter built on unity, inclusiveness, and purposeful leadership.
