Edo Assembly Clerk, Omogbai, quizzed over alleged age falsification

The Clerk of the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr. Audu Omogbai, has been invited by the Edo State House of Assembly Service Commission for questioning over allegations of age falsification.

This follows a petition by some concerned staff of the Assembly, who claim that Omogbai falsified his age to remain in service beyond the mandatory retirement age of 60 years and 30 years of service.

The petitioners also allege that Omogbai has withheld official file records, hindering investigations into the matter.

Omogbai has been asked to appear before a three-man ad hoc committee for an interview session.

He was invited in a letter signed by the Chairman of the Assembly Commission, Sir Ezehi Igbas.

The petition reads partly: “The Clerk has allegedly withheld official file records, hindering investigations into these matters.

“We humbly request your intervention to investigate these allegations and take appropriate actions to maintain integrity and adherence to regulations within the Edo State House of Assembly.”
