Members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Akwa Ibom State have joined well-meaning Nigerians to celebrate and congratulate Rev. Dr Osondu Ahirika, on his latest appointment.

Rev. Ahirika was recently appointed the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Ethical Orientation by the State Chief Executive, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.

In a goodwill message signed by Hon. Kayceey Chidiadi, President, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Akwa Ibom State Chapter, and made available to newsmen in Abuja, the organisation praised Gov. Umo Eno for recognising Ahirika’s competence and track record to Akwa Ibom Government and the people, describing the appointment as “a well-deserved call to service.”

Ohanaeze Ndigbo also pledged its unflinching support for the ARISE Agenda of his administration and commended the Governor for good governance and ensuring security which has translated to peaceful coexistence of all tribes in the State.

The statement further added that the appointment of many non-indigenes has shown the desire of Governor Umo Eno for inclusiveness and giving the Igbo community a sense of belonging.

According to Hon. Chidiadi, this singular move has buttressed the fact that Governor Umo Eno’s nationalistic ideology is not in question.

The release read in part; “We most happily thank the Governor of Akwa Ibom state, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, on his magnanimity and benevolence in appointing our own brother, Rev. Dr Osondu Ahirika as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State on Ethical Orientation.

“This appointment has shown the desire of the Governor for inclusiveness in appointing many non-indigenes and giving the Igbo community a sense of belonging. This singular move has buttressed the fact that his nationalistic ideology is not in question.

“On behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo in Akwa Ibom state, we pledge the support of the Igbo community in the State to the ARISE Agenda of his administration. We equally wish to use the opportunity to commend the Governor on good governance and security which has translated to peaceful coexistence of all tribes in the State.
