The Yitzhak Centre for African Development, has urged the Federal government not to accept a call by a religious group requesting it to severe diplomatic and business ties with the State of Israel.
The Director of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Prof Ishaq Akintola was reported to have recently asked Nigerian government to suspend all diplomatic and business engagements with the State of Israel.
However, reacting to the development, the President of the Yitzhak Rabin Center for African Development, Dr Ogini Nkemjika Blessing said in a statement on Tuesday that “this call is a mess from someone who is a Professor yet disconnected from reality”.
He urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu “to throw Professor Ishaq’s remark to the dustbin as it lacks merit and only aimed at cheap blackmail to make himself popular” adding that “it would have been more honourable for Professor Ishaq Akintola to urge Gazans to eradicate Hamas who has brought hardship to them”.
The statement further stated, “No nation could tolerate the likes of Hamas within their territory may be the videos of crimes against humanity committed by Hamas on October 7, 2023 should be replayed to Professor Ishaq in case he has suddenly lost memory of the heinous crimes of that fateful day where Hamas brutally murdered innocent little children, raped women both young and old, activities of Hamas on October 7, 2023 can be likened to a crocodile attitude towards its prey.
“I urge the government of Nigeria to give the State of Israel every diplomatic support necessary to ensure Hamas is eliminated. Professor Ishaq Akintola spoke for himself not for Nigerians and no well meaning Muslim in Nigeria will support his rants”.
“We want to urge the government of Israel to do whatever is right to protect the sovereignty of the State of Israel and ignore also people like Emmanuel Macron, French President who is like a chameleon that turns white when he sees white and at the same time turns red when he sees red.

“President Emmanuel Macron and any other Western Leader threatening to declare Palestinian State have actually lost their mind to reality. Terrorist group knows the weakness of Western Leaders; they know that they easily lost sense of reality for that reason they know when to strike.
“The so called western nations human rights easily destroy human values and for that reason they give room for more terrorist activities. Yitzhak Rabin Centre for African Development is in full support of Israel’s right to defend itself against all odds”
