Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, says he is focused on completing all ongoing legacy projects across the state.

Governor Diri, who stated this at the 169th state executive council meeting held in Government House Yenagoa, explained that these legacy projects are necessary to raise the standard of living of the people, as well as to stand the test of time and be useful to generations yet unborn, adding that they will also be a tourist potential for the state.

The Governor stated that work on the 630-meter Angiama bridge connecting Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie Road will soon be inaugurated. Furthermore, Phase one of the Nembe-Brass Road is almost completed, as the Federal Government led by President Tinubu has also paid 30% of the contract sum for the commencement of phase 2. The gas turbine will start supplying independent power by December this year, sand-filling is almost complete at the 25,000-capacity stadium in Igbogene, and the 9-story iconic state secretariat will be completed before the end of the administration, among other projects.
