The National Orientation Agency (NOA), on Wednesday, unveiled a nationwide enlightenment campaign aimed at educating Nigerians on government policies and burning issues in the country.

Addressing a press conference during the campaign flag off at the NOA national headquarters in Abuja, the Director General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, said the campaign programme will be held in five thematic areas.

Issa-Onilu highlighted the five thematic areas to include: National Values Reorientation for Students of Secondary Schools and Tertiary Institutions Against “Sign-Out Extreme Practices”; National Campaign on Flood Mitigation; National Enlightenment Campaign on Government Policies, Programmes and Activities; National Campaign on the Nigerian Identity Project and National Symbols; and National Security Awareness Sensitization Campaign: Achieving Improved Security Consciousness in Our Communities.

“Today marks the beginning of a two-week national civic engagement drive across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, and across all 774 local government areas of our great country,” he stated.

“This is not just another campaign – it is a coordinated national awakening that touches the very heart of our identity, safety, values and development. The National Orientation Agency, in line with its constitutional mandate, is rolling out five thematic campaigns designed to address some of the most pressing issues in our communities today,” he said.
