Tinubu’s support for states unprecedented, says NICO boss

The Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO), Biodun Ajiboye, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has provided more attention and support to state governments than any previous Nigerian government.
Speaking in an interview with ARISE NEWS on Thursday, Ajiboye described Tinubu as one of the most practical presidents the country has ever had, noting that his leadership is defined by a high degree of responsiveness to the needs of state governments.
“This president is one of the most practical presidents we have ever had in this country,” Ajiboye stated. “There has been no government that has taken care of state governments more than Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done.”
He highlighted Tinubu’s support in terms of resource allocation, policy focus, and what he termed “emotional intelligence” in governance. According to Ajiboye, the president’s commitment to decentralized development is evident in his engagement with state actors and his support for their administrative needs.
While acknowledging that opposition figures may not give the administration due credit, Ajiboye challenged critics to consider whether they could perform any better if placed in the same position. “I don’t expect any opposition to say good things about our government,” he said. “But whatever they say, they must be mindful of the fact that if they come on this seat, can they do better? Those are the kind of questions they should ask themselves.”
Ajiboye’s remarks come amidst ongoing debates over federal-state relations and the equitable distribution of national resources under the Tinubu administration.
