Join Premier League or risk regret, Oliseh tells Osimhen

    Published on

Former Super Eagles head coach Sunday Oliseh has issued a stark warning to Victor Osimhen amid reports of the striker’s potential return to Galatasaray, urging him instead to prioritize a move to the English Premier League.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) page, Oliseh said: “Victor Osimhen is at a very delicate crossroad. He needs to find his way to the Premier League in a hurry or he risks so much regret! Man. United and Arsenal need this player if only…..”

The message comes as negotiations between Napoli and Galatasaray continue over a proposed €75 million transfer, with the Turkish side aiming to pay the fee in installments over five years. Though personal terms are reportedly agreed, the structure of the deal has not yet been accepted by Napoli.

Oliseh, who coached Nigeria’s senior national team between 2015 and 2016, has long been an advocate for Nigerian talents taking their careers to top European leagues. He believes Osimhen, 26, is at the peak of his powers and should be aiming for a stage like the Premier League, rather than a return to the Turkish Super Lig.

His tweet also rekindles previous transfer links between Osimhen and Arsenal and Manchester United, both of whom were reportedly interested in the Napoli striker last summer.

Osimhen, who scored 37 goals and added 8 assists during a previous spell at Galatasaray, is said to be enthusiastic about rejoining the Istanbul-based club. He is understood to be attracted by the team’s long-term project and Champions League participation.

However, Oliseh’s remarks underscore a growing sentiment in Nigerian football circles: that Osimhen, a proven scorer in Italy and a former CAF Player of the Year nominee, belongs at a club in Europe’s elite leagues.
