In a bold move to foster economic empowerment at the grassroots, the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation has uplifted 100 women across Gombe State with financial support of N50,000 each to expand or launch their small-scale businesses.

The initiative, spearheaded by Engineer Aliyu Mohammed Kombat, aims to create a ripple effect of prosperity in the local economy.

At the presentation ceremony held on Sunday at Gombe International Hotel, Kombat’s representative, Adamu Aliyu Ibrahim, underscored the foundation’s commitment to uplifting underprivileged women across all 11 local government areas of the state.

“This program is designed to transform lives, enabling these women to achieve financial independence and contribute meaningfully to their communities,” said Ibrahim.

Malam Safiyanu, the foundation’s secretary, highlighted the broader vision behind the project, stating that this was the first phase of an extensive business support initiative.

He assured attendees of future interventions targeting youths and other vulnerable groups.

For beneficiaries like Salamatu Sa’ad from Akko and Aishatu Aliyu from Gombe, the program has opened doors to new possibilities.

Maryam Ishaqa Aliyu, a tofu vendor from Tudun Wada, shared her excitement about using the grant to scale her business and secure a better future for her family.

The initiative has been lauded for its potential to spark grassroots economic development, demonstrating the foundation’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the most vulnerable in society.
