Why I dumped LP for APC — Sen. Imasuen

Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has revealed that the performance of Governor Monday Okpebholo was the main reason he left the Labour Party (LP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Imasuen’s defection was formally announced on Thursday during plenary at the Senate, following a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Akpabio welcomed the senator to the APC and assured him of support within the party.

Speaking with journalists after the session, Imasuen said, “The governor’s good work in Edo State inspired me to join hands with him. We were both sworn in the same day as senators and worked closely before he became governor. Now, seeing what he has achieved in such a short time, I believe collaborating with him will better serve our people.”

He emphasized that his move to the APC would enhance his ability to deliver meaningful representation. “Decision-making is smoother, and I now have more capacity to pursue development goals for my constituents,” he added.
