PDP NEC to decide on Wike, others — Bode George

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and member of its Board of Trustees, Chief Bode George, has declared that the party’s upcoming 100th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting will take decisive action on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and others accused of working against the party.

Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Thursday, George insisted that the PDP would no longer tolerate internal sabotage. “Wike does not own the PDP. He joined like the rest of us. If you think he stays because of his money, just wait for the NEC meeting where decisive action will be taken against those who have committed political hara-kiri,” he said.

George emphasized that the PDP is not like the All Progressives Congress (APC), which, according to him, is controlled by one individual.

His remarks come amid tension surrounding the PDP’s 100th NEC meeting scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025. The National Working Committee (NWC) has denied claims of postponement and also dismissed reports that Senator Samuel Anyanwu had been reinstated as National Secretary, despite a press briefing by Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, indicating otherwise.

George also downplayed Wike’s influence in the current crisis rocking the PDP, saying no individual is bigger than the party.
