President Bola Tinubu has requested the National Assembly to consider and approve the sum of N1.481 trillion as the 2025 Budget for Rivers State.

Tinubu’s request was conveyed in a letter read by Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, during plenary on Thursday.

This decision comes amid the political crisis in Rivers State, which has affected normal legislative and budgetary processes.

Recall that President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in the state and appointed a sole Administrator following a prolonged rift between Siminalayi Fubara, the governor and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
