Falana contacts EFCC for VeryDarkMan’s release

    Published on

Renowned Nigerian human rights lawyer Femi Falana has reportedly intervened in the case of detained social critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), urging the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release him.

This was disclosed on Wednesday by VDM’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, who stated on X (formerly Twitter) that Falana had made several calls to the EFCC challenging what he described as the unlawful arrest and detention of his client.

Adeyanju’s update reverses his earlier criticism of Falana for allegedly remaining silent on the matter.

Falana’s involvement is especially notable given that his family is currently engaged in a ₦1 billion defamation lawsuit against VeryDarkMan. The lawsuit stems from a leaked voice note in which crossdresser Bobrisky alleged that musician Falz contacted him while in jail and claimed that Falz’s father (Femi Falana) could arrange a presidential pardon for ₦10 million.
