Comedian and filmmaker, Ayo Makun (AY) has spoken out following his invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the public spraying of cash, both Naira and foreign currency.

Sharing a statement on social media, AY expressed gratitude to the EFCC for their professionalism and clarified that the funds in question were not proceeds of crime.

“This experience has been a valuable lesson,” he wrote, adding: “Spraying money is a cultural tradition at Nigerian events, but we must all respect the Naira as a symbol of our national pride and stability.”

He urged the public to embrace patriotism and behave responsibly.
