Ruger, the eye-patch-wearing sensation behind ‘Asiwaju’ isn’t just bold in music but he’s candid in conversation too.

In a recent appearance on the Bro Bants podcast, the Nigerian singer admitted that his “toxic traits” go way back to when he was six.

“I fell for an older lady,” he recalled.

“She used to call me her boyfriend. I believed her. Then I saw her with another man through her window. I was devastated,” he quippped.

That first heartbreak, Ruger says, marked the beginning of his emotional walls. A tale as old as time but coming from a 6-year-old, that’s heartbreak on hard mode.
