Former U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that the United States was the decisive force in winning both World War I and World War II, asserting that America should formally celebrate those victories.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump emphasized the nation’s military strength, bravery, and strategic intelligence as key to its success in both global conflicts. He criticized previous administrations for neglecting to commemorate the U.S.’s contributions and announced his intention to formally recognize these achievements.

“Many of our allies and friends are celebrating May 8th as Victory Day, but we did more than any other country in securing victory in World War II,” Trump wrote. He went on to state, “I am hereby renaming May 8th as Victory Day for World War II and November 11th as Victory Day for World War I.”

Additionally, Trump issued a stern warning regarding Iranian oil and petrochemical sales. He declared that any individual or nation purchasing such products from Iran would face immediate secondary sanctions and be barred from doing business with the United States.

“All purchases of Iranian Oil, or Petrochemical products, must stop, Now!” he said. “Anyone who buys from Iran will not be allowed to do business with the United States in any way.”
