Dogara’s Reasons Why Tinubu Should Be Given Second Chance

    Published on

Nigerians have been asked to give President Bola Tinubu another chance by former House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara.

According to Dogara, the President made brave choices that benefited the country’s economy.

Dogara praised the President’s decision on the subsidies while attending a public lecture honoring Archbishop John Praise’s 65th birthday.

There is no decision without suffering, he said, pointing out the daily struggles Nigerians endure because of the President’s policies.

“If you think about it, I think the choice to eliminate subsidies was brave. Nowadays, no choice is not agonizing.

“I am aware of the obstacles and the hurdles. You know, a lot of families go to bed hungry at night. I’ve witnessed that.

Now is the moment for government. We’ll see what happens when we give this man a chance to perform once more for a while. After that, we can form our own opinions,” he stated.

However, the former Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed that Nigerians must have the ability to choose the winner of the 2027 election.

“But, you know, I want a scenario in which the president can win by setting an example rather than by using his actual power to force himself because I control the levers of the state’s coercive apparatus.” No, but since he has performed admirably and has a large following in this nation, he ought to win.

“And I think he has the opportunity, because he has shown courage in implementing some of the reforms he has started,” he said.

John Dara, another speaker at the public lecture, claimed that the President’s bravery and leadership have raised the amount of money coming into the national coffers.
