China requests Philippines stop giving Taiwan incorrect signals

    Published on

China has called on the Philippines to cease giving separatist groups vying for “Taiwan independence” false signals.

At a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday, Zhu Fenglian, the spokeswoman for China’s State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, stated as much.

He made this statement in response to inquiries about a Philippine media story that stated the Philippine government had loosened limits on contacts with Taiwanese officials and permitted their visits to the island.

We are adamantly against any kind of formal interaction between nations with diplomatic relations to China and the Taiwan territory.

“Stop misleading “Taiwan independence separatist forces” and stop playing with fire on the Taiwan issue.”

Fenglian stated that the Philippines ought to follow the one-China idea.
