Boko Haram: Governor Mutfwang says Nigeria committed serious mistakes

    Published on

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has stated that Nigeria made a grave mistake by allowing Boko Haram terrorists and other non-state actors to operate with capabilities that, at times, rival those of the country’s security agencies.

Mutfwang stressed the need for leaders and stakeholders to make sure that no organization within the country’s borders has capabilities that rival or surpass those of the country’s security apparatus while speaking at the unveiling of attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and the testing of locally made bombs at the Briech UAS headquarters in Kuje, Abuja, on Wednesday.

At the event, which was attended by a variety of stakeholders, Briech UAS, an indigenous technology business that specializes in drone manufacture, demonstrated its accomplishments.

“First and foremost, I would want to thank the Nigerian military for their services to national security. “It is time to address that disadvantage,” Mutfwang stated. “As a country, we have made a mistake by allowing non-state actors to acquire capabilities that are nearly overwhelming state actors.”

“We need to reach a point where no one within our borders has the skills necessary to match, much alone surpass, those tasked with upholding our national sovereignty under the constitution. Therefore, I applaud this company’s announcement that we are embarking on a strategic and, I would like to say, prudent acquisition of technology free of conditions.
