Four persons were on Friday night allegedly abducted by suspected gunmen along Nsugbe – Nneyi Umuleri, Anambra State.

    The incident happened around 9pm.

A man identified as Dona Ayakalor was reportedly abducted alongside his friends, about three in number and taken into their camp, where the gang was demanding for ransom before the victims could be freed.

A viral video of the incident showed where the kidnappers shot one of the victims’ foot, breaking his ankle, probably to show their seriousness and compel the victims’ relatives to pay ransom.

The victims were seen in the video wailing while one of them was seen making phone call and begging a suspected relative to mobilize funds for his release.

When contacted for reaction, Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga was not available online as at the time of filing this report.
