Emmanuel Petit describes Osimhen to Diego Costa, saying, “He’s a fighter”

    Published on

Victor Osimhen has been likened by former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit to Diego Costa, the team’s former striker.

Osimhen is a fighter like Costa, according to Petit, a former Arsenal player.

This summer, Osimhen has been strongly linked to moves to Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Nigerian international is presently on loan from Napoli, playing for Galatasaray.

GOAL cited Petit as stating, “My concerns with Victor Osimhen would be with his personality and character.”

If it works well for the team, it can be fantastic, but in other teams, it can be challenging.

“His abilities and contributions to the team are well known; he can contribute character and score goals.”

“He reminds me of Diego Costa in that sense; he is a fighter,” he continued.

As Nigeria gets ready to play Rwanda in Friday’s pivotal 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match, Osimhen is now in the Super Eagles camp in Kigali.
