Ogbu, Super Eagles’ “new boy,” receives praise in Czech Republic

Jindřich Trpišovský, manager of Slavia Prague, has given Igoh Ogbu, the new invitee to the Super Eagles, high marks.

The Red and Whites defeated Jablonec 3-0 on Sunday night, extending their hopes of winning the Czech Super League title.

In the twelfth minute of the match, Ogbu gave Slavia Prague the lead.

The center-back scored his second goal of the season in the league.

For his entire performance, Trpišovský praised the 24-year-old and said he is now a “complete player.”

“Igoh can be dominant in duels and typically defends the opponent’s best player.” “I believe it was his first goal with his left foot in his career, and he has calmed down recently,” Trpišovský said on the club’s official website.

He handled the problem flawlessly and at the right moment. He is incredibly valuable to us, and his performances much beyond his present cost.

He would be far more valuable if he participated in a foreign league. He is now a full-fledged player.

Ogbu is in Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
