The Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has joined the Canadian team AFC Toronto.
Okoronkwo left Changchun Dazhong, a Chinese team, to join AFC Toronto.
Before relocating to Spain to play for UDG Tenerife, the 27-year-old began her professional career with Saint-Etienne in the top division of France.
The graceful attacker is already eager to leave a lasting impression with AFC Toronto.
“I’m overjoyed to have the chance to play in Canada and to be joining AFC Toronto for the first Northern Super League season. Being a part of something historic is incredibly exciting,” she said on the club’s official website.
“While I’m excited to explore the city, my main goal is to assist AFC Toronto in scoring goals and propelling the team to the top of the standings.”
At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Okoronkwo represented Nigeria.
