Nigerian students receive N22 billion in loans from NELFUND

    Published on

More than N22 billion in loans have been given to at least 200,000 Nigerian students.

At a press conference in Abuja on Monday, Akintunde Sawyerr, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, revealed this information while pointing out that the application deadline for 2023–2024 is February 21, 2025.

He added that the application for 2024–2025 will be available on February 22.

Remember how the Federal Government announced in December of last year that N110 billion had been approved again for students attending public tertiary institutions across the country?

In November 2024, Sawyerr told the House of Representatives Committee on Student Loans and Higher Education Financing that NELFUND had distributed N12 billion to students as loans.
