    Edo Governor Assigns Portfolios to New Commissioners

    Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has officially assigned portfolios to six newly appointed commissioners, urging them to immediately begin their duties to drive development across the state.

    The announcement was made in a statement from the Secretary to the State Government, Musa Ikhilor, which detailed the appointments. The newly sworn-in commissioners and their portfolios are:

    – Paul Ohonbamu – Ministry of Information and Communication
    – Dr. Washington Osifo – Ministry of Water Resources and Energy
    – Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu – Ministry of Education
    – Lucky Eseigbe – Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs
    – Andrew Ijegbai – Ministry of Mining
    – Marie Olabisi-Idaomi – Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development

    In his speech during the swearing-in ceremony at the New Festival Hall in Benin City, Governor Okpebholo urged the new appointees to serve with dedication and integrity, emphasizing that their selection was based on their skills and ability to contribute to the state’s progress.

    The Governor expressed confidence in the commissioners’ ability to work collaboratively and implement initiatives that will improve the lives of Edo residents. He stated, “Together, we can make Edo State a model of growth and prosperity.”

    Governor Okpebholo’s administration aims to fast-track development and fulfill promises made to the people of Edo State, and he called on the commissioners to prioritize teamwork in their efforts to achieve this vision.
