Erling Haaland Signs Long-Term Deal With Manchester City

    Published on

Erling Haaland has extended his stay at Manchester City by signing a long-term contract that will keep him at the Etihad until 2034. This new deal comes as a significant commitment from both the club and the Norwegian striker, who joined from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.

Haaland’s previous contract, which included a release clause and was set to expire in 2027, has now been replaced by a deal that sees him remain at City until he is 34. This extension represents the longest contract in Premier League history, surpassing the nine-year deal of Cole Palmer with Chelsea.

With 111 goals in 126 appearances for Manchester City, Haaland has made a remarkable impact, boasting an impressive minutes-per-goal ratio in the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup. His debut season with City saw him score 52 goals across all competitions, setting a new benchmark for goal-scoring at the club.

Haaland expressed his excitement about his new contract, praising the special environment at Manchester City and the support from manager Pep Guardiola, his teammates, and the club’s staff.

City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, emphasized that the contract reflects Haaland’s exceptional talent and the club’s long-term vision to foster his growth.

Currently ranking third on Manchester City’s all-time Premier League goal-scoring list, Haaland continues to build on his legacy as one of the league’s most prolific strikers.
