Olu Samuel, Lokoja
A socio political group,’Yagba Brotherhood Vanguard’ has called for rotation of House of Represantives position in Yagba federal Constituency.
The group made the call while addressing a press conference in Lokoja on Wednesday
The spokeperson of the group, Mr. Olure Peter Olawale said that the place of Rotation of political offices is based on gentleman arrangement and agreement as a way of fostering unity and stimulating even distribution of development.
According to him “it has become important for all well meaning and patriotic Yagba indigenes to be concerned about the next Local Government to represent Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives”.
His words, “We the above members of this group after due consultations and consideration of our political history as it concern the House of Representative from the return of Democracy wish to put forward this Communique
“We appreciate the wisdom of our political leaders some are late now ( May God rest their souls) in making solid arrangement and agreement to see that the Office of House of Representative rotates between the three local governments of Yagba starting from Mopamuro at the return of Democracy in 1999.
“That the four year term of a single tenure started from Hon Barrister Shola Ojo, moved to
Hon Chief TJ Faniyi of Yagba East and ended with Hon Samuel Aro of Yagba West.
That a second leg movement started from Yagba West with Hon Steve Karimi, moved to Yagba East with Hon Leke Abejide.
“That the just and fair thing to do after the of Hon Elder Leke Abejide second term
is to allow a Mopamuro person represent our Federal Constituency.
The group appealed to all people of conscience in Yagba to support this very fair agitation in the interest of equity, fairness and justice adding that as a people, they have so much to gain in the very good arrangement of the then leaders than leaving this important position to pure chances and vague political manipulations.
He noted that no local government in Yagba is in dearth of people that can give Yagba quality representation in continuation of the good jobs of past occupiers of that position including the current, Hon Elder Leke Abejide.
“It is therefore our fervent belief that Mopamuro have enough good materials across all political parties amongst whom Yagba people can decide to elect at the appropriate time.”
He therefore seek the understanding and support of all to see that the brotherly, orderly arrangement is not truncated
