NAWOJ also expressed disapproval of the prevalence of GBV committed against women by their husbands, predators, and family members, noting that some of these cases resulted in death.

“We believe that it is possible to stop violence against women and girls. We urge the government to properly implement the Violence Against Persons Prohibition, or VAPP, law in the state and call on stakeholders to enhance their support of women and girls.

“Gender-based violence against girls and women may be stopped. Thus, we urge everyone to band together and put an end to this threat to women and girls.

“We hereby warn those who engage in gender-based violence to stop, and they should also be aware that the Osun State government no longer condones such evil against women.”

In support of women and girls, it stated that “ending gender-based violence is not a one-time call, but a continuous one, until it is totally eradicated.”

Additionally, NAWOJ praised the Osun State Government for establishing programs, preventive policies, and measures in favor of women and girls, as well as for approving the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Women Affairs, Children, and Social Welfare to fully support them.
