The Federal Civil Service Online Portal, ServiceWise GPT, and Galaxy Backbone’s “Govmail” digital service platforms for civil servants across the country have been introduced by the Nigerian government.
To commemorate her 100 days in office, Didi Walson-Jack, the head of the Federation’s Civil Service, made this declaration on Thursday in Abuja.
Chidi Okpala, the spokeswoman for Galaxy Backbone, said in a statement released on Friday that the launch of the digital platforms demonstrated the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to improving digital governance and fostering innovation throughout the country’s Federal Civil Service.
The Head of Civil Service, Walson-Jack, praised the efforts, saying they would facilitate government and the effective delivery of Nigerian workers across the country, at a meeting where the Govmail Interface was first formally introduced and shown to her.
“GBB’s Govmail is just amazing! This is revolutionizing the civil service in our country by facilitating communication and establishing a safe route to other digital government services. We are genuinely embracing the future of digital governance with Govmail,” she stated.
Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director of Galaxy Backbone, commented on the development, saying, “We are incredibly happy to have created this ground-breaking platform, guaranteeing that every Nigerian civil servant has access to a strong and secure communication channel.
“Govmail is about facilitating productivity, efficiency, and sovereignty in governance—it’s not just about email. Galaxy Backbone is still dedicated to spearheading Nigeria’s public sector’s digital transformation.
The strategic significance of Govmail for the country’s Civil Service was also emphasized by Engr. Faruk Yusuf Yabo, Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, who said that “Govmail significantly reduces the government’s reliance on foreign email platforms, cutting costs and addressing licensing challenges.” The Head of Service and Galaxy Backbone’s leadership deserve praise for this accomplishment.
