AFCON 2025 Qualifiers: Early Arrivals in Super Eagles Camp Ahead of Benin and Rwanda Fixtures

Ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze were among the first players to arrive at the Super Eagles’ camp in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on Monday. They joined six other early arrivals, including Amas Obasogie, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Bruno Onyemaechi, Gabriel Osho, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.

The Super Eagles’ media officer confirmed the arrivals to NAN, noting that more players were expected to join the camp on Tuesday. Among the invited squad are captain William Ekong, Ademola Lookman, reigning Africa Player of the Year Victor Osimhen, and 19 others.

The team is set to face Benin Republic on Thursday at the Stade Felix-Houphouet-Boigny, followed by a match against Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Monday. With the Super Eagles currently top of Group D, they need just one point against Benin to secure qualification for the final tournament.

Having won their previous match against Libya, the Super Eagles are in a strong position, with seven goals scored and none conceded. The team looks set to maintain their lead in the group, with only Rwanda capable of catching up on points
