    Nigerian Navy deactivates thieves’ hideaway, apprehends two suspects

    The Nigerian Navy’s Operation DELTA SANITY has located and shut down a hideout in the Bayelsa State hamlet of Oboloba that is home to crude-oil thieves.

    In Foropa, it also found and demolished an illicit refining facility that was loaded with a significant quantity of illegally refined kerosene.

    It posted a statement on its verified Facebook page that said this.

    “Operation DELTA SANITY: Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) SOROH found and deactivated a hideout that harbors Crude-Oil thieves in Oboloba Community, Bayelsa State, on Tuesday, November 5, 2024,” the announcement reads.

    The same day, in the Foropa general region of Bayelsa State, an illegal refining station loaded with a significant quantity of illegally refined kerosene was discovered and demolished by the NNS SOROH patrol team.

    Additionally, on Friday, November 8, 2024, in Igbomotoru, Bayelsa State, NNS SOROH and Forward Operating Base FORMOSO arrested two suspects in possession of two wooden boats loaded with bags of illegally refined AGO.

    In the Tubu-Bolo River in Bayelsa State, a second wooden boat carrying a significant quantity of stolen crude oil was found and seized.
