Trump names Tom Homan as US border czar

    Published on

Tom Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has been reappointed by President-elect Donald Trump to be the “border czar” of his incoming government.

Trump announced this on Sunday through his Truth Social platform.

Trump declared, “I am happy to announce that Tom Homan, a stalwart on border control and former director of ICE, will be joining the Trump Administration, in charge of our Nation’s Borders.”

Trump claims that Thomas Homan will be in charge of aviation and maritime security in addition to the deportation of undocumented immigrants back to their countries of origin, which is a crucial component of Trump’s immigration strategy.

Senate approval is not necessary for this position, though.

Given his extensive experience and Trump’s promise to carry out the biggest deportation operation, Homan’s selection was largely anticipated  in U.S. history.
