Rivers Govt Discusses Fubara’s Closing of NNPCL, Other Oil Companies

    Published on

Claims that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and other oil businesses in the state were shut down by Governor Siminalayi Fubara have been refuted by the Rivers State government.
Naija News is aware that a social media report was used to make the accusation.

However, the Rivers government claimed in a statement signed by Warisenibo Joe Johnson, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, that the news is not only untrue but also a work of propaganda.

The administration advised the residents of Rivers to disregard the report, stating that Fubara had not issued such a pointless order.

According to the statement, “The Rivers State Government has taken notice of a false report that is making the rounds on social media regarding “Gov. Siminalayi Fubara closing down NNPCL and all oil firms in Rivers State.”

In addition to being untrue, the report was a work of propaganda that the author and the State’s adversaries had created. Additionally, an unreliable and insignificant medium spread the narrative.

“Governor Siminalayi Fubara is dedicated to upholding the rule of law and responds to governance issues without resorting to unusual or impolite methods.

Therefore, we urge Rivers residents and well-meaning Nigerians to disregard the false and fabricated news, since Governor Fubara never considered or ordered such an unnecessary order to shut down the economy for whatever reason.
