The Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC) has announced that the All Progressive Congress (APC) has secured victory in 21 Local Government Chairmanship seats and 239 councillorship slots in the elections held on Saturday.

Mr. Mamman Nda-Eri, Chairman of KOSIEC, declared the results during a press briefing in Lokoja, emphasizing that the election was conducted in a peaceful, free, fair, and credible manner. Notably, among the elected local government chairmen, a woman emerged victorious in the Ogori-Magongo Local Government.

Nda-Eri stated, “APC performed excellently; it cleared all the chairmanship and councillorship positions, leaving nothing for the other 18 political parties that participated in the election.”

He confirmed that the results were earlier declared at various collation centers by the respective Returning Officers. In closing, he expressed gratitude to electoral officials, security operatives, observers, and the media for their contributions to the success of the election.
