INTRODUCTION:
Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited is no doubt located in Kogi state particularly Egbira land, the dream of the project was conceptualized by the Military regime of General Murtala Mohammed, late though carried out by Alh. Shehu Shagari a democratically elected president in 1979. The ILO charter of project management /execution gives right of first refusal to the host community ( Egbira land) to hold certain (40%) percentage of the workforce ranging from management staff down to the junior staff being the immediate catchment area.
This ratio was designed by the international industrial laws as compensation and recognition for environmental degradation that will be suffered by the people, besides, the handlers of the project is equally expected to provide some social services in terms of educational scholarship, provision of some essential infrastructure capable of making life easier for the host community.
Following this conventional international standards, all other Multi-national industries established in the country has the host community as either the MD/CEO or Chairman/D-G overseeing the organization therefore, Ajaokuta Steel Company can’t be exceptional. The nation have witnessed this in South- – South government establishment, Northern establishment and indeed Eastern establishment, to this end I make bold to appeal to the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be magnanimous enough and appoint an Egbira Person as the Sole Administrator of the company in compliance with the international conventional treaty on catchment/ host community.
PROFICIENCY EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR THE APPOINTMENT.
It is not an overstatement to say that the job is not for all comers but for technocrat who have proved him or herself in the field of engineering most especially steel related duties and or metallurgy that will serve a round peg in a round hole.
Egbira person with this particular experience will not only fit for the post but will know the nitty gritty and any crafted conspiracy theories that may arise to shortchanging the operational level of the company and its eventual completion.
Mr. President sir, Egbira nation have this quality of person(s) needed who have indeed worked for the realization of your leadership aspiration since 2003 to 2023 politically. He is a hidden germ, introvert and of course silent archiver who hardly blow his trumpet.
The erudite Engineer served in the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) under the current National Security Adviser (NSA) as a member of Stakeholder Relations Committee during the last Presidential election. The gentle man sponsored not less than eighteen (18) Tinubu Support organizations across the country but deeply in Kogi Central. A Ph.D holder in Mechanical Engineering and currently Head of Department, Aeronautical Engineering, University of Abuja, Nigeria.
Engr. Dr. Ishiaka Shaibu Arudi is a Russian trained Engineer with specialization in Manufacturing Technology and Machine tools sponsored by the Federal government through Ajaokuta Steel Company back in the 80s. He has equally participated in the rehabilitation exercise in the steel plant between 2005 and 2008. His knowledge about the entire company will be a serious advantage to Nigeria and on the other hand facilitating friendliness with the Russian consortium on the quality of work expected of them. He has since put in his credentials for vetting for the coveted position.
However, the more the merrier for greater chances I therefore humbly advise our sons and daughters in the profession to put in application as a proof that we have the manpower to handle the steel industry.
Due to his believe in the capability of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu he digress a little bit into politics to show his support for the realization of Mr President’s presidential ambition in 2023. However, it will be Godly and religious if the President could look down the memory lane and give the appointment as a payback time knowing fully well he is qualified and merited the position by virtues of catchment/host community adherence as enshrined in the ILO charter agreement.

Egbira nation can’t appreciate the President enough on the mission of his administration’s resolve to complete the two companies for national transformation and employment generation.
The president is highly applauded for his political will to tackle the international politics and local distractions surrounding the steel industries.
The companies when completed will make Nigeria an industrial hub in the sub-sharan region and indeed west Africa. The technological potential of the country will geometrically improved paving ways for innovations and growth of the nation.
