The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on Nigerians to embrace the newly approved national anthem, stressing its role in promoting unity across the nation.

Speaking at a press conference in Lafia, Nasarawa State, NOA Director General Lanre Issa-Onilu emphasized the importance of practicing the new national anthem and the National Values Charter as a demonstration of patriotism. The event marked the launch of a sensitization campaign across Nasarawa’s 13 Local Government Areas.

Issa-Onilu, represented by Haruna Sule, explained that the federal government approved the new anthem to instill hope in Nigerians for a more prosperous future. He added that the first stanza would be used in official functions, with all three stanzas reserved for special occasions.

Amid ongoing challenges due to the removal of the petroleum subsidy, Issa-Onilu assured citizens that the government has introduced palliative measures, including funds for food security and conditional cash transfers to support vulnerable households.

Nasarawa State NOA Director, Priscilla Gondoalour, further highlighted the campaign’s goal of educating citizens on the significance of the national anthem as a symbol of unity and patriotism.
