Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has called on the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take swift action in implementing the recommendations of the party’s reconciliation committee. Speaking at a press briefing in Ibadan, after the committee’s completion of its assignment in the South-West, Makinde emphasized the need for unity within the party.

Represented by Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, Makinde said, “The National Working Committee (NWC) must ensure that the outcomes of your assignment are implemented. Without this, we risk returning to square one.”

Makinde highlighted the sacrifices made by the committee and expressed hope that the NWC and Board of Trustees would address any lapses to help move the party forward.

Earlier, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the committee’s chairman and former Osun State governor, stated that the committee’s task was to assess the PDP’s health in the region and reconcile aggrieved members.

The call for action underscores the importance of the committee’s work in promoting party unity ahead of future elections.
