    Bandits Kill Abducted Kebbi District Head, Isah Daya

    Bandits have killed the abducted district head of Kanya, Isah Daya, in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State. Daya was kidnapped along with nine other members of his community on October 6, 2024.

    The Kebbi State Police Command confirmed Daya’s death on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, after his body was found in a forest during a rescue operation. The police spokesman, Nafiu Abubakar, stated that security forces, including police, military, and vigilantes, had successfully rescued the remaining eight victims after a gunfight with the bandits.

    Despite the successful rescue, Daya’s body was discovered in the Sakaba forest. The victims were taken to the General Hospital in Sakaba for medical attention and have since been reunited with their families.

    The Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Sani, expressed his condolences to the Kebbi State Government, the Zuru Emirate, and the late district head’s family, offering prayers for his soul to rest in peace.

    The police are urging the public to provide any information that could help bring the perpetrators to justice.
