The Nigeria Police Force, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, has successfully dismantled kidnappers’ hideouts within the FCT, arrested four key suspects, and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition.
According to SP Josephine Adeh, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit acted on credible intelligence to track and apprehend the suspects on Tuesday.
The suspects, identified as Yau Sani (aka Baba), an ex-convict, Nuhu (aka Giwa), Kabiru Mohammed, and Yusuf Hassan, were found hiding in plain sight within the Sauka area of Abuja.
Upon interrogation, they confessed to multiple kidnappings and the killing of seven victims in the FCT and surrounding areas, including Dakwa, Dawaki, Aco Estate, Dupe Village, Zuma Rock, Kuchiko village, and villages in Niger and Kaduna.
A further search led by the suspects uncovered another hideout in Gauraka Forest, Suleja, Niger State, yielding four AK-47 rifles.
