Meta has introduced new celebrity voice clones as part of its AI chatbot expansion, featuring stars like John Cena, Awkwafina, Dame Judi Dench, Keegan-Michael Key, and Kristen Bell. The announcement was made during the Meta Connect 2024 developer conference, where CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed that users on Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Facebook can now have real-time conversations using these AI-powered celebrity voices.

This development is part of Meta’s broader strategy to challenge AI competitors like ChatGPT. While OpenAI’s ChatGPT is known for its emotive Advanced Voice Mode, Meta’s offering is more aligned with Google’s Gemini Live, which relies on synthetic voices to read responses aloud, rather than capturing a fully human-like tone.

Meta aims to enhance user interaction with this new feature, hoping to deepen engagement across its various platforms.
