The Customs Area Controller, Kwara Area Command, Comptroller FM Ojeifo, has charged officers deployed in the Saturday local government election in Kwara State to remain apolitical.

He specifically warned the officers of the Command scheduled to partake in the national assignment to shun bribery or any other social vice, adding that any social menace would not be condoned by the Service.

The Comptroller, who gave the warning on Friday in Ilorin, the state capital, while addressing the 50 officers at the Command’s parade ground, stressed the need for them
to be neutral and exhibit professionalism before, during and after the election.

He said: “Our major responsibility is to observe and complement the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies deployed for this assignment.

“Officers must be responsible, diligent and be peaceful, be unbiased, and objective irrespective of political affiliation.”
