The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has directed six suspended state executives to appear before its National Disciplinary Committee.

On September 6, 2024, the NNPP National Working Committee (NWC) announced the dissolution of the executive committees for state chapters in Taraba, Gombe, Benue, Oyo, and Bauchi. This decision was part of a broader effort to reposition the party and address various internal issues.

According to a statement by the NNPP National Publicity Secretary, Ladipo Johnson, the party’s NWC convened an emergency meeting on September 17, 2024, to formalize the disciplinary process. The statement outlined that the decision to probe certain members was a routine measure aimed at fostering development and achieving party objectives.

The affected members, suspended initially for three months, include:

    – Mrs. Ayobami Idowu Adekunle
    – Alhaji Rasheed Adebisi Olopoeniyan
    – Mr. Demola Oke
    – Mr. Kilamuwaiye Badmus
    – Mr. Oyesola Ololade
    – Mr. Olayiwola Musibau
    – Mr. Tunde Adedapo
    – Ms. Riike Olanira

The NWC cited allegations of offences against the party and anti-party activities as reasons for the suspensions. All those affected have been informed and are required to appear before the National Disciplinary Committee for further proceedings.

This action aligns with Article 45.6.2 of the NNPP’s constitution, which allows the NWC to suspend members pending disciplinary proceedings.
