* Speaker certain Baruten’ll deliver for all APC candidates

Scores of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) members in Baruten local government area of Kwara State have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the September 21 local government polls in the State.
Led by the SDP candidate for Okuta/Yashikira constituency in the 2023 election, Azeez Umar Sariki, Koto Yerima Yashikira, the defectors were received by the APC State Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Samari during the party’s campaigns in the local government area.
Speaking at the campaign forum, the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, declared that the people of Baruten Local Government Area would vote massively for all the candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming LG polls to reciprocate the dividends of democracy provided by the APC administration in the State.
He reeled out the achievements of the ruling APC across the 16 local government areas, especially in Baruten local government area which he described as “unprecedented in the history of the northern part of the State”.
He added: “The APC under the leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been doing wonderfully well across the State in the last five years, the government has touched all the 193 political wards in the State ranging from education to health, agriculture, human capital development, and empowerment of our women and youths, among other infrastructural facilities, the footprints are everywhere.
“I want to assure you that Governor AbdulRazaq is not done yet, he still has a lot of goodies, dividends of democracy for our people, I therefore urge you to come out in large numbers on the 21st of September to cast your votes for Isa Jibril and Adamu Salamat Sidi as Chairman and Vice Chairman along with other councilors in the 11 wards of our local government.”
The Speaker was joined by his Okuta/Yashikira counterpart in the Assembly; Muhammad Baba Salihu, the Kwara State APC Deputy Chairman, Abdullahi Samari, Development Officer for Baruten LGA, Umar Asaburu, immediate past TIC Chairman of Baruten Local Government, Rashid Lafia, Commissioner II, Civil Service Commission, Adamu Jemilat, APC Chairman, Baruten LGA, Alhaji Abubakari Setraco and several other party stakeholders.
The Speaker and the campaign team had earlier toured Ilesha, Bode Babane, Sinawu, Okuta, Boriya, Gure, and Yashikira.
