Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has hailed the upcoming fuel production by the Dangote Refinery as a pivotal moment for Nigeria’s economic revival. With petrol expected to be available at filling stations within 48 hours, the refinery’s output will address the nation’s long-standing dependency on fuel imports, conserve foreign exchange, and stabilize supply.

In a statement released on Tuesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, Governor Abiodun emphasized that this development will resolve one of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges—fuel shortages—while bolstering the economy.

The refinery, which can produce 650,000 barrels per day, is a key component of the nation’s strategy to reduce reliance on imported fuel. The governor also praised the efforts to revitalize the Warri and Port Harcourt refineries, which are expected to contribute further to economic stability and lower fuel prices.

Abiodun lauded Alhaji Aliko Dangote for his perseverance in completing the multi-billion dollar project and commended President Bola Tinubu for ensuring its realization. He noted that the refinery’s launch represents a significant shift in Nigeria’s energy landscape, enhancing energy security and generating thousands of jobs.

This initiative is seen as a catalyst for broader economic growth, attracting foreign investments and creating a more favorable environment for businesses in Nigeria.
