The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has summoned Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to address allegations of anti-party activities. The former Rivers State Governor has been asked to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee.

Deputy National Publicity Secretary Ibrahim Abdullahi revealed on Channels TV that Wike received a formal notice to appear before the committee. Abdullahi criticized Wike’s recent comments about causing unrest in PDP-controlled states, calling the remarks “unacceptable” and “disappointing.”

Abdullahi emphasized that the PDP does not support Wike’s statements and expressed surprise at his choice of words.

The PDP’s response came shortly after Wike publicly expressed satisfaction with his role in President Bola Tinubu’s administration, despite ongoing criticism and speculation. During a PDP Congress in Rivers State, Wike, the only opposition member in Tinubu’s cabinet, told critics to “go and hug the transformer,” a remark he made while defending his position
