    Kwara lauds Organisation on health Interventions

    The Kwara State Government has commended Marie Stopes International for its significant contributions to reproductive health interventions in the State.

    The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-Imam, gave the commendation at a one-day stakeholders meeting, in Ilorin, the State capital.

    Dr. El-Imam reiterated the State government’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for all development partners, assuring Marie Stopes International of government’s supports at all times.

    The Commissioner also affirmed the State government’s commitment to ensuring the continuity of quality healthcare services, even after the exit of the donor, noting that the support is crucial to the sustainability of the programme.

    She expressed gratitude to the Country Director for the support provided so far by the organisation.

    In his remarks, the Country Director, Mr. Emmanuel Ajah, lauded the State government for creating an enabling environment for Marie Stopes International personnel to operate.

    The Country Director who was represented by Mr Faloye Abimbola said: “We truly appreciate the unwavering support from Kwara State Government, which has led to better outcomes for our organization.”

    Ajah stressed the need for government’s continued support to the development partners so as to attract and facilitate further advancements in the health sector.

    The meeting was attended by: Directors in the State Ministry of Health, representative of the Executive Secretary of the Primary Health Care Development Agency, as well as various Heads of Units and Programme Officers.
