Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar welcomed a distinguished delegation to his Asokoro residence in Abuja on Wednesday. The visit was centered around a formal request for the hand of his daughter, Hafsat Atiku Abubakar, in marriage to the family of Kashim Imam.
The delegation from the Kashim Imam family was led by former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Among the notable attendees were National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and former governors Sule Lamido of Jigawa State and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State.
According to a statement by AbdulRasheed Shehu, the Special Assistant (Broadcast Media) to Atiku Abubakar, the gathering underscored the high regard in which the former vice president is held and highlighted the importance of the occasion.
